Director Score Card

Search any film director and get their complete career scorecard: average ratings, filmography, rating trends, and genre breakdown powered by real data.

About This Tool

The Director Score Card is a data-driven career analysis tool for film directors. Search any director from our database of over 1.5 million people, and instantly see their complete career profile built from real audience and critic ratings across their entire filmography.

Every director has a story told through their numbers. Some start strong and fade. Others build momentum over decades. Some work exclusively in one genre, while others jump between drama, comedy, action, and everything in between. This tool surfaces those patterns. You get a full filmography table sorted by year, an average rating across all rated films, and your chosen director's highest and lowest rated work at a glance.

The visual rating trend chart plots each film as a data point on a timeline, letting you see career arcs and creative peaks in a single view. The genre breakdown reveals how a director distributes their work across categories, helping you understand their creative range and preferred territory.

Whether you are a film student researching auteur theory, a cinephile comparing the careers of your favorite filmmakers, or a journalist writing about a director's body of work, this tool gives you the quantitative foundation you need. All data comes from our entities database, which tracks over 208,000 movies with ratings, genres, and metadata sourced from TMDB and other industry databases.

Where Does This Data Come From?

Director filmography data comes from the DropThe entities database, which aggregates movie metadata from TMDB (The Movie Database) and other industry sources. Ratings reflect audience vote averages aggregated from hundreds of thousands of individual ratings per film. Genre classifications follow TMDB's standardized genre taxonomy.

Director-film relationships are sourced from structured entity links in our knowledge graph (1.4 billion relationship records) and supplemented by director credit metadata stored in individual movie records. The system first checks our entity_links table for explicit "directed" relationships, then falls back to matching the director field in movie metadata to ensure comprehensive coverage.
